Alliance to Preserve the Finger Lakes has filed a lawsuit naming New York State Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission, we are committed to protecting the environment through various initiatives and programs.
The Alliance to Preserve the Finger Lakes filed a lawsuit against New York State on Tuesday alleging arbitrary and capricious behavior by issuing a Siting Permit to Agricola to construct a 99 Mw Wind Project in the towns of Scipio and Venice. This is the 10th such lawsuit brought against the State alleging, among other things, that decisions regarding siting of renewable energy projects, including the Agricola Wind Project, are being made arbitrarily and capriciously. The Alliance to Preserve the Finger Lakes is concerned that proper care has not been taken in siting the Project and that citizen’s concerns have been wholly ignored for the sake of the rapid expansion of renewable energy on farmland, largely prime farmland.
